Grants
Received to Support Adopt-A-Business and Technology Needs
During the past quarter, The Edge Connection received two
notable grants. In January, The Adopt-A-Business program received a
generous $15,000 contribution from AFC Worldwide Express.
Adopt-A-Business is an initiative of The Edge Connection’s board of
directors to enroll forward-thinking corporations like AFC Worldwide
Express to assist in helping fledgling businesses to grow and
flourish in our community.
AFC Worldwide Express provides high quality domestic and
international transportation services. Today, AFC is a leading
minority-owned transportation and logistics company in Kennesaw with
18 domestic offices. They have a reputation for providing the
highest quality solutions and services possible to global clients.
AFC’s CEO, Glenn Henderson said, “We have such a closely aligned,
shared vision and shared values. We’re proud to be associated with
The Edge Connection, both corporately and personally, and look
forward to a long, shared future.”
Hewlett Packard (HP) selected The Edge Connection to receive a
$100,000 Leadership Award under their HP 2008 Technology for
Entrepreneurship Education program. The grant will provide
$71,790.00 in equipment and $28,000.00 in cash to purchase a server
and software and to install our new equipment.

Celebration and Awards Gala
