A mother and daughter team, Margaret McCant and Viola Davies, have
created a bi-monthly, complimentary newsletter for teachers that
features teacher interviews, puzzles, book reviews, upcoming events,
and recipes. The newsletter is currently offered in several schools.
Margaret and Viola hope to make it available throughout the Atlanta
area and beyond by the end of 2009. Their ultimate goal is to turn
the newsletter into a magazine for teachers. Revenues come from
selling advertising space, so increased circulation means increased
revenues from advertisers who want to reach this market. In the
future, Margaret and Viola will also offer original teacher friendly
products for sale through the newsletter.
Margaret and Viola visited The Edge Connection, Inc. to discuss
legal issues including which legal entity might be best for them,
contracts with vendors and advertisers, and intellectual property
issues such as copyrights, etc.
