Media Veteran Vince Bailey
Selected to Emcee at the
The Edge Connection 2008 Gala in November
Kennesaw, GA (August 5, 2008) – The Edge Connection Gala
Committee has selected media veteran Vince Bailey to emcee
the 2008 Gala event this coming November – “Celebrating 10
Years of Accomplishment” in micro-entrepreneur and small
business training.
Vince Bailey is a 24 year media veteran who began his career
as a United Way volunteer reader for the blind in his
hometown of Gary, Indiana. After serving as Program Director
for TCI Cablevision of Gary he relocated to Little Rock,
Arkansas where he worked in various capacities including:
News Photographer / Editor at CBS Channel 11, Morning Radio
Personality at Power 92 FM, Cable Television Coordinator for
the City of Little Rock, Production Supervisor for Comcast
Cable, Commercial Manager for WB 42 and Media Manager for
the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. For the past
twelve years Vince has operated a full service audio video
production and consulting company, Vince Bailey Productions,
based in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Upon acceptance, Vince “The Voice” Bailey remarked that “As
a small business owner for over 12 years, I realize how
valuable programs like the Edge Connection are for
entrepreneurs and the communities in which they live and
work. The training and technical assistance that’s provided
by The Edge is priceless!”
Vince understands the training needs and the commitment
necessary to succeed in business. He continued to say that
“For many, the opportunity is ‘once in a lifetime’. I am
extremely honored to be the emcee for this year’s Gala, and
look forward to honoring the great achievements of the
participants and this outstanding organization”.
The planning and fundraising for the November Gala, which
will be at the newly renovated Marriott Marquis in Atlanta,
is still ongoing. To date, the 2008 Gala is being sponsored
by Cbeyond, Turner Broadcasting, Georgia Power, Exhibits
South, Governor's Mentor Protégé Program, and Lockheed
Martin.
The Edge Connection offers an award-winning and nationally
recognized program that delivers best-practices,
microenterprise and small business training, financial
literacy, entrepreneurially focused technology training, and
essential entrepreneurial support services to aid
microentrepreneurs to launch, sustain, or grow a business.
The Edge Connection is a fully independent, non-profit 501
(c) (3) organization and located on the campus of Kennesaw
State University within the Coles College of Business. It
provides services throughout metro Atlanta and partners with
agencies state wide.
The Edge Connection is a founding member of Georgia Micro
Enterprise Network, a member of the national microenterprise
trade association, the Association for Enterprise
Opportunity (AEO), and is an SBA Women’s Business Center.
