receives a $15,000 Partner Level Sponsorship Grant
for their Upcoming 2008 Gala Fundraiser
from The UPS Foundation.

Kennesaw, GA (September 8, 2008) - The Edge Connection receives a $15,000 Partner Level Sponsorship grant for their annual 2008 Gala Fundraiser event from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of UPS (NYSE:UPS).

Established in 1951 and based in Atlanta, Ga., The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its backing clearly impacts social issues. In support of this strategic approach, The UPS Foundation has identified the following focus areas for giving: non-profit effectiveness, economic & global literacy, encouraging diversity, community safety and environmental sustainability.

In 2007, The UPS Foundation distributed $46.4 million worldwide through grants that benefit organizations or programs such as The Edge Connection, and provide support for building stronger communities.

"UPS has a long-standing commitment to making a difference in our communities all over the world. We do this by supporting worthwhile organizations and engaging over 400,000 employees in community service," said Lisa Hamilton, president of The UPS Foundation. "Together with nonprofit partners such as The Edge Connection, we work to make a sustainable positive impact."

Patricia Harris, CEO of The Edge Connection states, "We are proud to have UPS as a sponsor for this year's Gala Fundraiser. This is a particularly important year for our fundraising with the launch of our Enterprise Center business incubator and commercial kitchen that will support the growth of the businesses we serve. The new facility will open February 2009. We appreciate UPS's commitment to helping new entrepreneurs receive the training they need to succeed in making their business dreams a reality. This can only happen with solid training, consulting, and ongoing support. We are proud to say that The Edge Connection has been successful in this role and are excited about the opportunity to expand our services even further."

The planning and fundraising for the November Gala, which will be at the newly renovated Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, is still ongoing. To date, the 2008 Gala is being sponsored, in addition to UPS, by Cbeyond Communications; Turner Broadcasting Systems, Georgia Power, a Southern Company; Exhibits South; Governor's Mentor Protégé Program; and Lockheed Martin.

The Edge Connection offers an award-winning and nationally recognized program that delivers best-practices, microenterprise and small business training, financial literacy, entrepreneurially focused technology training, and essential entrepreneurial support services to aid microentrepreneurs to launch, sustain, or grow a business.

The Edge Connection is a fully independent, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization and located on the campus of Kennesaw State University within the Coles College of Business. It provides services throughout metro Atlanta and partners with agencies state wide.
