The Edge Connection’s Adopt-A-Business Program
Receives Generous Support from AFC Worldwide Express

KENNESAW, GA (January 15, 2008) – The Edge Connection announces today that their Adopt-A-Business program has received a generous $15,000 contribution from AFC Worldwide Express.

Adopt-A-Business is an initiative of The Edge Connection’s board of directors to enroll corporations and businesses to give a hand-up, rather than a handout, to new entrepreneurs, helping them develop microenterprises and emerging businesses.

Contributions from forward-thinking corporations like AFC Worldwide Express assist The Edge Connection in helping fledgling businesses to grow and flourish in our community. These business owners are creating jobs, increasing our economic impact, and contributing to the tax base in our neighborhoods. Entrepreneurs who complete The Edge Connection programs have a higher success rate in the marketplace because they have an organization behind them that continues to support their business educational needs and growth.

AFC Worldwide Express was established in 1987 to provide high quality domestic and international transportation services of time-sensitive materials. Today, AFC is a leading minority-owned transportation and logistics company with 18 domestic offices. They have a reputation for providing the highest quality solutions and services possible to global clients. The CEO, Glenn Henderson said, “How could we not participate after we met Patricia Harris, CEO and Director of The Edge Connection, and learned about their track record, history, and vision? We have such closely aligned, shared vision and values. We’re proud to be associated with The Edge Connection, both corporately and personally, and look forward to a long, shared future.”

The Edge Connection offers an award-winning and nationally recognized program that delivers best-practices, microenterprise and small business training, financial literacy, entrepreneurially focused technology training, and essential entrepreneurial support services to aid microentrepreneurs to launch, sustain, or grow a business.

The Edge Connection is a fully independent, non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization located on the campus of Kennesaw State University within the Coles College of Business. It provides services throughout metro Atlanta and partners with agencies state wide. It is a founding member of Georgia Micro Enterprise Network and is a member of the national microenterprise trade association, the Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO).
